Ok, so I have been thinking of posting this here for a long time so here I go. First of all some clarification to the title, an ASD is an Autism Spectrum Disorder. For your information I have Asperger's and have at least played every game in the Animal Crossing franchise with Wild World and New Leaf being the two I have played the most. I started playing back when I went to a school just for kids who were on the spectrum and nearly all the kids who were on the higher functioning end of the spectrum played Wild World which made any time we got to pull out our DS's a total blast since we could easily fill a town with visitors and go about having fun and swapping fruit. Now on to why I'm posting this, when I came here I found a post about life experience being like that in AC and how someone said the game improved their social skills. Social skills are a major problem with being on the spectrum in that it has to be learned like an actual skill like painting, music, or driving. I realized that playing Wild World was a big part in my getting out into the real world and it was an excellent learning experience for me, I even found a favorite coffee shop I frequent with a great open mic and where I'm friends with most all the baristas so I guess you could call it my "Roost". If anyone else here is either on the spectrum or has a child on the spectrum please feel free to throw your two cents in on this.
