Hero Concept - Zayl , the Necromancer Fresh fom Reddit


First of all , this is my first serious Post , so apologies for making mistakes and for bad formatting!


Now lets get serious. How did i come up with this idea? I saw recently a post about HotS lacking Diablo Heroes and i totally agree with it. While Diablo 3 presents mostly the "Diablo" franchise in HotS (except the appearance of Diablo itself), there are lot of nice Heroes , which would fit very nice into HotS and it would be a waste not integrating those.


So my Idea would be the Necromancer class from Diablo 2, which is one of my favourite . Necromancer abilities are split in D2 into 3 groups: summoning skills , poison and bone skills and curses. But why Zayl? He has a appearance in Diablo 3 RoS in the Path of the Drowned, we do not know much about him , but its something and its the latest model of a necromancer. http://ift.tt/1Ig5kVa There would also be some other possibilities like Nihlathak, because he is a important character in Diablo 2 and thus more recognizeable , but he is well known for using "Corpse Explosion" , which would not fit very right in HotS , but implementing him with this kit,which i have in mind would also be nice


Abilities Note: I choose his abilities mostly from the necromancer spells from Diablo 2


*His trait : Every 20 Seconds , a Skelleton Warrior is summoned , which will join alongside the nearest lane to fight. This cooldown is reduced by 1 Second for every miniondeath near Zayl or completely reduced on Herokill.


Possible upgrades :


-Reduced CD


-Stronger Skelletons


-Instead Skelleton Warriors , Skelleton Mages are summoned


Q : Curse(Amplify Damage)[High mana cost / 20 seconds CD]


Curses a certain area , which makes enemy minions and heroes suffer 15% more damage from basic attacks


(Spellcast similar to Tassadar)


Possible Talent:


-Increased range and/or radius


-Buildings also beeing curseable


-addional effects like slowing 10% (Decrepify)


-Basic attack damage done decreased by 10% (Weaken)


-Allies who attack cursed target are healed by X Life (Lifetap)


W: Bonespear [Little to Medium mana cost / 8 Sec CD] Launches a spear straight forward piercing through all targets in a line dealing X-Damage


Possible Talent:


-Range , width increase


-First enemy it encounters is stunned for 0,5 sek


-Poisoned spear , enemies take another 30% of the damage in the next 5 seconds


E Bone Wall [Medium mana cost / 15 sek CD]


Creates a Bone Wall in target location with X Life (Can soak up skillshot abilities )


(Likewise Anivias Ice Wall from League of Legends , but beeing attackable , thus also protecting from skillshots) Possible Talent:


-Increased cast range


-Reduced CD / manacost


-Hostile ranged basic attacks , who pass through the Bone Wall , have their damage reduced by 30%


R1 Summon Golem [High mana cost & CD] Summons a random of the 4 Golem (damage/Health likewise Ultralisk)


-Clay Golem : Slows nearby Enemys movement & attackspeed by 15%


-Blood Golem : 25% of damage taken is shared (e.g. Ability hits Zyal for 100 damage -> the Golem takes 25 of it and Zyal only takes 75 damage)


-Iron Golem : 30% more Health / 15% increased Damage and attack speed


-Fire Golem : Golem radiates burning fire , dealing neaby enemies X damage every second.


Possible Talent: The Iron Golem cannot be summoned anymore , but all his Golem brothers become clad in iron, resulting in getting his effect (Clay/Blood/Fire Golem get visually some iron plates)


R2 : Poison Nova [High mana cost & CD, very high range , about 1 screen] Spreads a toxic wave of poision. Enemies cought in the posion take X Damage for 10 Seconds


Possible Talent: -Poisioned enemies also get cursed (too OP?)


Pros and cons


Pros: -Great at teamfights , especially with a lot of basic attack type assassins as allies


-Great at sieging due to summoning Skelletons/Golems , cursing minions


-Great at disengaging and protecting allys with Bone Wall + blocking enemy disengage


Cons: -Very squishy (a Zeratul ,who blinks accros the bonewall is almost a certain death for Zyal)


-Able to block allies with Bone Wall , resulting in their possible death


-Little damage outcome by himself except bonespear and poision nova , which makes him 1vs1 very weak


Once again sorry for bad format and the mistakes , because english is not my native language. What do you guys think? Please let me now if there is something to correct or if you want to add / change . On demand , ill gladly think of certain Heroes for the Assassin (Natalya) / Amazon / Druid class of Diablo 2 :)
