| What's the weirdest customer encounter you've experienced while working there? | Too many to narrow it down to one. I've thought about making a twitter account just from stupid shit customers say to me while i take their order. But one time i had a lady in drive thru look at the menu for a solid minute, then proceed to order two cheeseburgers. after i explained that we don't sell cheeseburgers, she Immediately responded with ordering two hamburgers. once again explaining that we dont sell beef, she finally settled on a couple of chicken sandwiches. there have been some people who have joked and done this but i swear this lady was serious. |
| XD my god, you should make that Twitter account. It would be hilarious hahaha. | If I ever come back I totally will, but since i only work for another week, i will run out of good content pretty quick. |
| No questions, except maybe where you get the race of people that run Chickfila's. The nicest, most accurate food team I have ever encountered. Is it the same place Oompa Loompas live? | I think it all goes back to our mission statement, which is "To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A." The glorify God part isn't as big of a deal as the rest of the mission statement, as i have worked with people who have been Jewish, Muslim, Christian and Atheist. When they hire they are really looking for someone who is passionate and has a servant's mindset. And when you surround yourself with those kind of quality people your food and your experience at Chick-Fil-A will be memorable. |
| What is your policy on free food? One time the guys there slightly messed up the swirl on a icecream cone and they just gave it to me for free. | Every store is different because every franchise operator will have a different policy. My operator is a very generous and giving person. He gives us the freedom to use our own discretion. If there is a problem, and fixing it means this guy gets free food, thats what you do. One thing that really sets our store apart however is if a customer forgot his wallet, or his card is declined, give it to him for free, no matter how much it costs, no questions asked. Because if you help them out once they will remember and come back again and again. |
| Do people ever take advantage of that "i forgot my wallet" policy and try to do it multiple times? Or tell their friends to do the same? I think it is a very nice thing to do but I also know many people might want to take advantage. | Most people are actually smart enough to bring their wallets. But we usually remember who we give free stuff to. But if we happen to suspect that someone is taking advantage of us we usually refer them to our gm or owner and they are usually too scared to try to screw them over personally face to face. |
| Whats with the Gay-Hate? This is the reason I dont eat there. | The beliefs of the upper level management don't reflect on every store. my store has hired a gay guy and he was one of my favorite people to work with. Truett Cathy was 93 when he died and a lot of the bad press came from his comments. but what do you expect from a 90 year old southern baptist who probably had lots of old fashion ideals. My grandmother doesn't agree with gay marriage but i still eat her awesome food. in the end, it's just us serving good food, not advancing anyone's political agenda. |
| Even if he is 93 that doesn't really justify being a prick. | Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. No one should be able to judge who is right and who is wrong. |
| If someone came to your location and asked really, really nicely for a Chicken Biscuit after breakfast hours, would you make one? Asking for a friend... | The problem is, we hand make the biscuits. so unfortunately we cant make a single biscuit for someone after hours. but, if your lucky, we might have something left over until around 11am. |
| EDIT: there are very special circumstances that come up where we will make someone breakfast after hours. for example, a regular came in and his daughter has been very sick for a while. She was having surgery and all she wanted when she woke up was some Chicken Minis. So after talking to our owner we made him an entire batch free of charge. | |
| What's the grosses thing you seen working at Chick-Fil-A? And be honest! | Okay, so usually we are supposed to put two trash bags in every trashcan so it doesn't break. Well on my first shift ever, i took the trash out to the dumpster. someone in the kitchen had only used one bag. i lifted it up to throw it into the dumpster and it ripped. spilling discarded parts of raw chicken, and everything that came out of the bottom of the frier when they cleaned it spilled all over me. |
| Only been there twice. The first time the chicken was bland, but there was a shit ton of dank ass sauce. The second time the chicken was bland but the sauce was ghost. Why would anybody eat there now? | I'm sorry you had some bad experiences. Just like everyone else, we aren't perfect. every once in a while we might make a bad sandwich. If this ever happens, alert any one of our team members and he/she will quickly correct the problem. also if the chicken is too bland i recommend the spicy sandwich, it's got more flavor. also which sauce did you try, they are all different and not everyone. |
| Can you tell us about you internship? | It's not really a big deal, I'm a business major and when one of my parents friends found out she told me about an internship at the company she works for, its not official yet but I would like to do it, in the end, i don't want to work for Chick-Fil-A the rest of my life so i figured it'll be time to change. |
| The first time I went I had a different sauce for each nugget, they were all good and made up for the lack of flavor. The second time I went they were all gone. It was just katsup, mayo, mustard and tobasco. I wouldn't blame the staff. It's just corporate management. | Hmm, its odd that they ran out of every single sauce. usually we get shipments twice a week and are in no danger of running out of most stuff between shipments. sometimes business is tricky and hard to predict, so most likely the store you went to wasn't very busy for a while so they stopped ordering as much stuff, then just had business pick up a lot for a few days and used up all their stuff. |
| What's the secret with the lemonade? Also have u heard about any new items coming to the menu. | There is no secret. in the morning we squeeze fresh lemons, add water and sugar. it's that simple. I've heard some rumors that we are getting rid of spicy chicken during breakfast. Also we are currently testing a english muffin and egg white sandwich in limited markets. hasn't gotten to my store yet but expect it this summer. |
| Was this a temp position and if so why here? Why is it so pricey for fried food when anyone else can fry the same? Do they have be benefits that allow birth control? (Asking for a friend) | I was hired in November of my senior year of high school. i worked until August of 2014 and then i went to my first semester of college, then i came back after the semester was over and have worked there since. but i go back to school in a few weeks and have an internship lined up this summer so i sadly will not be returning. |
| Why are you all so fucking nice and courteous? | Part of our mission statement is "to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A." so of course we want to make sure every part of your visit is perfect. but don't worry no matter how nice we are to you we will always talk shit about you behind your back. |
| What do you specifically do? | My duties include taking orders from both front counter and drive thru, bagging food, getting the food out to customers, preparing desserts (shakes/sundaes), and cleaning dining rooms and bathrooms. I have also trained newer team members on all these duties. |
| I'm an Australian and Chick-Fil-A isn't a thing here, what's Chick-Fil-A all about? Btw hope your new career path is an awesome one. | Chick-Fil-A is technically a fast food restaurant. Unlike other fast food restaurants we do not serve any beef products. Also unlike other fast food restaurants we hand make everything fresh in our kitchen. we also take pride in our excellent customer service and take pleasure in helping our guests. |
| Will you be finishing every answer with "My Pleasure" ? | No, I try hard not to say "my pleasure" when I'm not at work. there have been times where someone would say "Im sorry," to which I replied, "my pleasure." or other situations where it did not apply. since then I've steered away from saying it off the clock. |
| Why did you think anyone would care? When will you be killing yourself because you were stupid enough to post this? When may I watch? Bonus question - Will you shoot yourself in the face or cut your own throat? I'd prefer if you could do both. | It's my pleasure to tell you to go fuck yourself. |
| I have to ask the following because I cannot resist those shakes. What is inside those shakes? (Minus the secret ingredients) Any shake secret menu? (you suggest, if applicable) | It's no secret. we have shake base (basically sweet milk), ice cream, and then whatever else you want to add like strawberry, chocolate or oreos. Also chocolate and cookies and cream is good, also putting a little coffee into it with the shake base is fucking great. |
| How much did the controversy over official Chick-Fil-A statements affect the way people treated you and other employees, and how much do you agree with those statements and the mission statement of CFA? | Personally I strongly believe in the mission statement, when you take Chick-Fil-A out of the statement and just replace it with yourself, the mission statement is an excellent motto to live by. And also we have the best customers and they have always treated us as well as we treat them. |
