Attack of the Fanboy 8.0/10
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is definitely the best Dragon Ball game in years, though certainly not without its flaws, which shakes up the typical formula and is bound to shape the future of the series.
Game Informer 7.5/10
Xenoverse stands as one of my favorite Dragon Ball Z video games. I like taking my own custom character into familiar battles from the show, and I enjoy acquiring new equipment as I progress. My character may have looked nothing like me, but I really felt like I was actively participating in the flashy action alongside the familiar cast.
CG Magazine 7.0/10
People unfamiliar with games themed around Dragon Ball Z will not find much here to latch onto, but fans of the Dragon Ball Z franchise will not know what to expect from a twist and turned filled time travel story that will rearrange all of their favorite characters until those fans can put them back in order again.
XGN 7.0/10
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is the best Dragon Ball game in years, despite the somewhat repetitive gameplay. The (online) RPG elements are well thought-out, but the loading times are not Xbox One worthy. Creating your own unique fighter is a great addition.
IGN 6.7/10
Customizing my own character’s equipment and move pool is fantastic...but it’s hard to get excited when combat feels hollow, especially for a franchise all about heroes stronger than Superman.
Gaming Trend 65/100
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is excellent fan-service and has a ton of potential, which makes it frustrating as hell to see it held back by technical issues and repetitious combat.
Xbox Achievements 55/100
A game for the Dragon Ball purists, Xenoverse is unlikely to appeal to anyone else.
Arcade Sushi 4.5/10
Fans have been wishing for the perfect Dragon Ball Z game for a long time, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse makes it clear that they'll need to collect the dragon balls again and wish for something else, because this thing sucks harder than Yamcha.
Now it's your turn. Let's see what you think of the game. If you want to give it a score? Go ahead!
