All Hail King Julien. Set in the Madagascar franchise this Netflix series was surprisingly well put together and didn't hold back with jokes aimed towards adults. Well worth the watch for families with kids or people who are kids at heart. Fresh fom Reddit

Serious Question: Why are you actually happy right now? Fresh fom Reddit
I don't know if I'm the only person feeling this way, but I can't for the life of me understand why any person who supports this franchise would be happy right now. I'm actually pretty not-happy. Very not-happy.
This season was one of the saddest travesties I've ever had the misfortune to witness. It wasn't just bad football and bad luck, it was an institutional effort at instilling apathy. It's not that the team is just bad in every single facet, it's that they are completely hopeless. It's not that the guy who we just spent 2 first round picks and a 2nd round pick is probably getting cut this offseason, it's that we have absolutely nothing resembling a professional quarterback. We have no offensive line. We have no defense. We have the historically worst special teams just one year removed.
It's not that they'll be bad next year, it's that there is exactly zero long term plan. This once-proud and successful franchise is blatantly floundering, and every year pulling the same C-/D+ just-barely-not-failing-out grade.
The only possible positive one could even take away from a year like this is finally having a first round pick again, and trying to get it as low as possible. Instead we decide to win an absolutely meaningless game (for us) which costs us probably 4-5 spots in the draft, and either way one of the division rivals is going in the playoffs anyway. All we did was screw up our draft and help Dallas of all teams make the playoffs.
So seriously: why are you actually happy right now? This team is a caustic mixture of incompetence, narcissism, apathy, and talentlessness. We're not a year away, or two, or three, or five, or ten. We're (at best) fifty years away, until the end of he who should not be named.
I just really don't get it.

There are 32 NFL teams, how many franchise quarterbacks are there. Fresh fom Reddit
If you a quarterback you're thinking of is on the cusp, don't include them. The ones we can all agree on are cornerstone Qbs 1.Brady 2.Manning 3.Rodgers 4. Brees 5... Finish the list. (This is not a quarterback ranking list btw)

QUICK YEAR IN REVIEW
Only three days into the New Year, a sad man by the name of Benito Mussolini took power in Italy. What a great sign. The new spring saw the release of The Great Gatsby, only a week before opening day. The month of May became a wash with the ongoing Scopes Trial, and the trial leaked into the rest of the hot and sticky Tennessee summer. As the year turned old, My Rushmore and the Grand Ole Oprey were born. Also, listen to this video of Calvin Coolidge’s inaugural Address

DEATHS-
Mar 4- Monte Ward- The New York Times blared in their daily issue JOHN M. WARD DIES SUDDENLY IN SOUTH. The subhead mentioned his career with the Giants and his brilliant maneuver to organize the Players’ League. this is the full obituary. His death, one day after he turned 65, came as a shock to everyone. Mr. McGraw stated- “I cannot fully express my regret,”
Apr 9- Babe Ruth- The London Evening News reported upon the death of Mr. Ruth- “The Great Pitcher has struck out Babe Ruth. The death of the beloved and incomparable Bambino is a national calamity for it wipes out the highest paid athlete in the world and easily the most popular figure in the history of American sport, other than Jack Dempsey”. “The Title of home run king will probably be his for many years. He was a big-hearted boy. He earned good money and gave it liberally. He was a unique champion such as the world has never seen before and probably never will see again. He was the man who earned more money than the presidents of many big corporations simply because he had the strength and ability to drive a baseball farther than any man before him.”
Oct 7- Christy Mathewson- Let’s face it. We all cried or wanted to cry in Ken Burn’s baseball after this line was uttered- "Now Jane, I want you to go outside and have yourself a good cry. Don't make it a long one; this can't be helped."
OPEINING DAY-
The Statesman reported this One month after opening day, on May 10-
It is a wonderful thing, this game of baseball. They have played their opening games in two major leagues and there never was such a reclaim of any game to the favor of the great public that likes this sort of thing, writes Ed Smith in the Chicago American. There were capacity crowds everywhere and it is claimed with good basis that nearly a quarter of a million persons saw the different contests... It must be a great game. IT is because it presents a billion combinations of play and possibilities. No two games are alike. The most astonishing things are happening at every angle of a baseball battle. Take Alexander’s Home run of the first ball pitched to him. What could be greater than to see the mighty one sock that ball over the fence and then pitch his team to a glorious victory?
The Reading Eagle reported this article on April 15-
King baseball was escorted back to the throne as the monarch of American sportdom yesterday in an inaugural which called forth more than 233,000 to witness a typical opening day’s conglomeration of good and bad performances. Exceptional pitching feats were posted in a few games, terrific hitting marked others, while erratic fielding and ineffective pitching contributed to make others as weird as only opening games can be.
The scores-
AL
New York Yankees 5 Washington Senators 1
Philadelphia Athletics 9 Boston Red Sox 8
St. Louis Browns 14 Cleveland Indians 21
Detroit Tigers 4 Chicago White Sox 3
NL
Pittsburgh Pirates 2 Chicago Cubs 8
New York Giants 4 Boston Braves 5
Cincinnati Reds 4 St. Louis Cardinals 0
Philadelphia Phillies 1 Brooklyn Robins 3
THE REGULAR SEASON-
Opening day was not a good day to be a pitcher, unless you are Grover Cleveland Alexander. Lefty Grove had his major league debut, but only lasted 3 innings. He was tagged with 5 four earned runs. One month later, his new teammate Jimmie Foxx played his first game. Pirates SS Glenn Wright turned an unassisted triple play in the twilight of a loss to the Cards and Lou Gehrig starts his consecutive games streak. This is ironic because only one month before Gehrig started, Everett Scott ended his streak. Lou Gehrig will break Scott’s streak. Tris Speaker got his 3,000 on May 17 and Eddie Collins collected his on June 6. The end of the year saw such pitching oddities as Dazzy Vance pitching a no hitter and Ty Cobb collecting a save against the Browns.
POSTSEASON-
With Babe Ruth all in a knot, the Washington Senators kept the AL crown for a their second consecutive title, and went on to face the red hot Pirates. In the previous summer, as we saw in last year’s edition 1924- Walter Johnson screwed up his first two starts and then came back for a wonderful seventh game. This series he slaughtered the Pirates lineup without mercy for his first two starts, then let it all slip away in game 7. Despite the Pirates performance, the true winner of this game was the weather. The series was postponed because of it, a glebben (that is Ferengi for rainstorm) occurred simultaneously with Game 7. This is the World Series with the famous Sam Rice diving catch, which took place in Game 3. Game 7 saw the Pirates overtake Walter Johnson for the crown. James Harrison wrote these poetic lines in the New York Times on the day after-
In a grave of mud was buried Walter Johnson's ambition to join the select panel of pitchers who have won three victories in one World Series. With mud shackling his ankles and water running down his neck, the grand old man of baseball succumbed to weariness, a sore leg, wretched support and the most miserable weather conditions that ever confronted a pitcher." Here is some footage from the series
Meanwhile in the Negro Leagues, the Hilldale Club defeated the Monarchs 5-1. Both teams dominated their respective leagues.

We are no longer in the Deadball Era. The ERA’s have gone up 1.00 at least in both Leagues. I would also like to state I would love to add Negro League stats here, but they are not only unreliable but also hard to find. Especially this early in the league’s history.
FINAL DISCUSSION- What should Walter Johnson’s postseason legacy be? What do you think Babe Ruth’s death was like for 1925? What if he had actually died? How would we remember him?

[M] Adventures of the Sexual Noob: Fingering [Attempt] [Semi-Success] [Analplay] [Moans...lots of moans] [Feels good man] [Not that flexible] Fresh fom Reddit
So, here's the next instalment of this franchise (if you could call it that). This one wasn't as successful as I'd hoped it would be because I'm not entirely built to gain much from fingering myself. Although I do enjoy doing it, with the way I'm currently built it's difficult to get a lot out of it. I certainly would enjoy anal play a lot more if I were using a toy/vibrator.
Regardless, this was an experience I wished to share with you. Come join me as I open up to you...giggle .

Why I love these Detroit Lions Fresh fom Reddit
One thing that I think is very interesting, that I've never seen before is something that I've seen tweeted by several players already.
They aren't content with the fact that we made the playoffs, and they won't be happy until we finish the regular season 12-4.
Now granted, there hasn't exactly been any experience in our recent past with qualifying for the playoffs this early, heck qualifying at all, but I honestly think this is something that Caldwell has instilled in the team, a drive to be better. This is the first time in a very long time that I've seen us with motivation to finish out the season.
It's a bit refreshing to see this out of the Lions, and I truly hope this is a glimpse towards the future of this franchise!
Go Lions!

"Exodus: Gods and Men" is a ripoff of the Bible. Fresh fom Reddit
In the Bible there was a desert, and some people.
Flash forward to Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Men. There is also a desert, and people.
First he ripped off Ridley Scott's Alien franchise when he did Prometheus. Then he ripped off Joseph Conrad's The Duel when he did The Duellists. Now, I firmly believe, he's copied parts from the Bible and tried to present them as an original movie.

Cody Parkey absolutely chokes, missing two field goals.

Emmanuel Sanders misses time due to illness.

I am relatively new to COD but I want to know how some players find the enemy so easily in multiplayer. Fresh fom Reddit
First of all, I am having a great time playing this game so far. This is my first COD since MW2 and I didn't even play multiplayer very much in that game. So I would say that I am still new to the franchise. I am not a very skilled player but I do ok. What I have been wondering is how some of the more skilled players get so good at finding the enemy and accumulating kills. That may seem like an odd question but many times when I watch the killcam after I die, it seems like the player who killed me knew exactly where I was going to be, which made for an easy kill. Or when I am watching a skilled player on Youtube, it always seems like he knows exactly where to go to encounter the enemy and get kills. I, on the other hand, will run around the map looking for someone to kill and hardly find anyone. But then I'll get shot in the back or from the side. In a typical game of TDM, I'll have something like 10 kills with 12 deaths but the top player in the match will have like 35 kills and 25 deaths. This means that he encountered the enemy at least 60 times. I was hoping someone could enlighten me with some tips to finding players on the opposing team or any other tips to get better at the game.

What is there for me to do? Fresh fom Reddit
This is a repost of something that I posted yesterday (about 24 hours ago) because I didn't really get any responses (I don't expect anyone to care about this poorly crafted post but I'm hoping someone has a bright idea)
Edit: Not really PC related, just internet in general. Sort of
I couldn't find a good subreddit to post this to, because it really isn't something that anyone wants to read. I decided that perhaps I'd get a reply or two on here, my favorite subreddit.
I'm 16. Okay, almost 16. In 2007 I first really went on the internet, and from then onwards, I played a game that I won't name (it was for kids) until... well, really until about 2012. I stopped 'playing' it in early 2009 but ran blogs about it and stayed in the Twitter community for that game until 2013.
I spent pretty much all of my time on topics related to that game, every second. I'd get home from school and post the latest updates (they were regular) or work on a site of mine... or just tweet for hours. I never even knew about the world of gaming until 2011 when I played Black Ops 1. I had previously played a few games like Vice City but I didn't really care for them.
I played COD and other games from 2012ish to late 2013, when I moved to PC. This is when I finally closed down whatever I had and left that community. I was way too old for it.
I don't know what I was doing earlier this year, I think I spent most of my time playing COD on PC, since it was such a new experience. (Not COD Ghosts, of course) But now, almost 2015. I don't know what to do, I'm thinking "Make a youtube channel." "Start a new site" "Dive deeper into programming"... none of these I can see working.
I'd love to make a YouTube channel but in no way am I comfortable behind a microphone. Literally, I wouldn't say a word behind my studio condenser microphone if you offered me $1000 to do so. It's not viable, despite knowing some people in the YouTube scene, some with hundreds of thousands of subscribers and others a bit smaller. I could make good quality videos in all aspects but speaking, which is basically the key part of YouTube. You can't make gaming videos without wanting to speak.
I'd love to make some new sites. I purchased a couple of domains recently for the first time in a while, but they're all too big of projects. I like blogging, that's where I've spent hundreds of hours, but I just don't have anywhere to go. I can't open up a new blog and type type type, I'd need to find a niche and one with an audience. I'm not interested in anything right now, or at least anything with an audience for blogs, just videos.
Programming is an interesting one. It's not really.. productive. I see it not as achieving anything but sort of... learning/expanding programming knowledge isn't like running a blog or a YouTube channel, it's the preparation for running a blog... or something. Obviously you don't need any knowledge to just run a Wordpress.org site but I think my point is understandable. Programming just isn't right for me now, I already fiddle around here and there but I'm leaving that for later education.
Games aren't my thing, I can't keep concentrated, I don't enjoy them. In fact, I look at playing games as work - I feel like I somehow achieved something by forcing myself to play games for 20 minutes.
I've never been at this point on the internet before (I'm on the internet every second I'm awake and not at education) where I'm not playing a franchise to its death (COD is the only game I really like because when you're good, you're good. It's fun) or browsing Reddit and don't really have any sort of way to produce content in any format. I don't know how to describe it but I'm just lost on the internet.
I really want to get into YouTube because I feel like it's where I could do pretty well (Sure, I'm young, but I got into the internet so long ago and have been on it so much that age really is irrelevant here. I didn't just join Facebook and mess around for 7 years, I dug deeper from the start) I enjoy all videos from a very select few gaming videos (TotalBiscuit + 2 others who I won't name, they're pretty small) to random News Anchor compilation fails) I'd have fun producing any videos at this point, but I don't see there to be any audience for videos other than those with commentary. I want to do YouTube, but blogging is where I started and where I'm limited to due to just not wanting to speak - or more so I don't want anybody hearing me randomly speaking in my room.
Sorry, ramble ramble ramble. I just needed to vent. I haven't cleaned my post up to make much sense so if you've got this far, I'm sorry, you're probably lost.
I don't know what to do. I'm super super lost on the internet, I need to stop spending my days browsing Reddit and do something constructive, which is what I'm thinking about more and more now that the "Holidays" have started and education is finished.
Are there any popular YouTube channels that don't require commentary/talking? I would ask if anyone has ever been in a similar situation but this is really weird.
Any booming topics for blogs? Like, I don't even know nowadays.
Recently, I've thought about "Top 5" lists of top 5 weapons from games, top five maps from FPS games, top 5 missions, top 5 news anchor fails etc - using http://www.ivona.com/ text to speech. No way though, I have more respect for video quality than that.
TL;DR: Previously ran websites since the moment I first went on the internet, all those sites are closed since the topic was very specific and it died out. I don't know what do now, I have no hobbies to blog about (games don't really... well, blogs and games don't mix) and while I have YouTube friends, I'm way too uncomfortable in front of a microphone. I don't know what to do, I'm lost.
Edit 2: I've looked for Teamspeak servers to get used to talking to a microphone, there aren't any. There are no communities that I can find.
To sum it up, by the way, I've never been on the internet while not working towards a goal before. I've never had nothing to do here before.

Halo 5 Music Fresh fom Reddit
It is really, really bad. Both the menu music and post match music sound like they're coming from a C rate movie, sounds nothing like Halo. I'm fine with the gameplay changing but the iconic score should remain somewhat intact... At least at the menu.. I mean Mario keeps similar music from game to game and that's a pretty successful franchise.
But yea overall, Halo 5s music is horrible and 343i should really consider hiring Marty O'Donnell.

[no spoilers] What do you want from the next series? Fresh fom Reddit
Korra's over and I'm already ready for more! It's never to early to think about the future, especially a future that has more potential than every other Nick franchise ever.
Seriously though, what do you want out of the next Avatar series now that Korra's over? I think I want to see a more anti-hero Avatar. Yeah, I know there are way to many anti-heroes out there now, but I think It'd be a big contrast to the rest of the series to see an Avatar that's not afraid to get their hands dirty to save the world. I want to see someone who grew up in the poor district of Ba Sing Se and goes overlooked most of this life. The Earth Kingdom is much bigger than the other countries, so I figure that an Avatar would be much harder to find.
As a huge fan of the series, I can't wait to see the next one (and it WILL happen). LOK and ATLA were both amazing so it's have a lot to live up to, but it can happen. So what do you want from the next series reddit?

My personal thoughts on the H5:G beta 24 hours after. Fresh fom Reddit
Let me first start off with a tl;dr. The game plays great.
Movement
Anyone who is skeptical of sprinting etc. should not be. It works very well, feels much more fluid than H4. If I had to sum this game up in one word it would be smooth. The thruster packs are a nice addition, and feel much less clunky than competitors such as Advanced Warfare, where it seems like it was thrown in last minute. Being able to boost out of the way to avoid a grenade is a great feeling. Meleeing while sprinting will cause you to do a "shoulder charge", almost identical to the Titan class in Destiny, apart from the fact that everyone can do it. The hover ability can come in handy sometimes, and it can tend to throw enemies off their game if they are tracking you and suddenly stop mid-air. Ground pound is actually fairly hard to use, and you have to score a direct hit on a full-health enemy to kill them AFAIK. Ground pound also has a fairly limited range.
Sound
Sound is great so far. The weapons sound crisp and contort, and of course change depending on what environment you are in. The Spartan callouts are a nice addition, if not fairly casual. It effectively eliminates the need to do actual callouts, so take that as you will. Personally I find the announcer OK for the most part, apart from the occasional puuuuuurfectttt. The announcer definitely has lost the original charm from the first two games, but it's not something to not buy the game over. Overall sound is nice.
Graphics
While currently the beta runs at 720p AFAIK, the graphics are nice, pretty much on par with H2:A, which is not a bad thing. Lighting and shadows are great. I did notice the Spartan customization screen has a very low-res character model, and it seems at the beginning of a match your team is also strangely low-res, but I will accredit that to it being a beta.
Weapons
First off the AR is actually not shit, on the contrary, it's actually very powerful. It's currently my tool of destruction. Similarly the SMG is actually very good. I can down people from 20 meters scoped in. What's that? ADS? Why yes, there is ADS on every weapon. Technically its "smartscope", whatever that is. 343i has made it very clear that they are not trying to force ADS upon the player, and every weapon has the same accuracy scoped out, bar the SMG and AR. I believe these become more accurate when scoped in, but that does not mean you can't get kills scoped out. Being hit while ADS while knock you out of ADS too.
Bottom Line
While this game is still a year out, by the way it is going I will definitely be picking it up. While it does offer a lot more than the past games, I do believe it can safely bear the name Halo. Movement is incredibly organic and smooth, allowing you to effortlessly dodge grenades and shake up your enemy. Graphics will only get better, and sound is on point. Do not take this as a comprehensive guide, just my thoughts after 24 hours. This by all means doesn't cover anything, such as the ranking system etc. Personally I will be picking this game up as of now day one, and I am willing to look past the MCC. Not forgive or forget, but I am excited for where 343 is taking the franchise.

Draft a new LT? Fresh fom Reddit
So it looks like at present well be drafting in the low teens for the upcoming draft. Now that we've finally gotten what looks to be our franchise qb in Teddy, I think priority one is protecting him so he can have a longer career and to help speed up his development and productivity. That being said Kalil seems to be the biggest issue hindering that right now followed by poor play at the LG. What do you guys think about drafting an LT in the first round and moving Kalil in to LG to see if that helps regain his probowl form before we decide at the end of next season if he's worthy of a new contract or should be cut.
Is there any precedence for this working out in the past? I know guard and tackle are two different skill sets, but honestly Kalil is grading out so poorly right now would it make that big of a difference to start him from scratch and maybe kill two birds with one stone? You guys this this could be a real fix or is my logic flawed here?

WHY THE PRE-SEQUEL DIDN'T WORK FOR ME, AND KIND OF LOWERS MY LOVE FOR BORDERLANDS 2... Fresh fom Reddit
So I've played Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. It's not without its charm. New characters, more interactive dialogue with them, and playing as Claptrap is just the funniest thing for me. The idea of a little robot like him running around and laying waste to all kinds of monsters and people while blabbering on and on is just the greatest. Also some nice news NPCs, mainly Janey Springs and Nurse Nina.
However, the game was also very disappointing for me. The story overall felt kind of rushed and lackluster, and my biggest complaint is coming up now: making Handsome Jack, the main villain of Borderlands 2, sympathetic.
Now, normally, I'm not too adverse to drawing in some sympathy for villains. If done properly, it can work very well. But in a world like Borderlands, where they are no real good guys, trying to make a villain sympathetic, especially since many of us (including me) had spent a whole past game hating him, doesn't really work out. There are quite a few reasons for this:
- The universe of Borderlands is already a pretty crappy place. Corrupt weapon corporations run many things with iron fists and don't care about anything other than their own profits. Pandora, where most of the action takes place, is a violent, vile, hostile, shithole of a planet, with many unsavory and unpleasant characters living there. Bandits, crazy people (a crazed scientist with an ego to match her insanity, a deranged doctor who lost his medical licence for reasons he doesn't seem to want to divulge, and a greedy capitalist weapons dealer who would rather shoot a customer in the leg than give him/her a refund), and Vault Hunters (basically more professional and less-insane bandits who take paychecks for doing work).
Yet, BL2 managed to do the impossible; make me care about some of these people. Why? Not because they were nice people, but because the enemy that they were fighting (Handsome Jack) was so much worse than them in every single aspect that I was willing to sympathize with them regardless. But in order to keep liking these people, Handsome Jack had to stay worse than them, because that was really all the people of Pandora had going for them for the most part (even though they still have a sense of friendship with each other and also had some funny moments).
Jack was always a vile, loathsome piece of crap in BL2. For all of his blathering on about how he was the hero, and how the Vault Hunters were such bad people (and in some ways, he was right), we could feel secure in the fact that not only were the Vault Hunters better than Jack (they don’t going around shooting just anybody, and especially in not such overtly-cruel ways), his hypocrisy about him being so much better than the Vault Hunters (Jack shamelessly joking about doing horrible things while criticizing the Vault Hunters for doing things much tamer than he does) made him so much more hateable, and therefore a great villain.
Jack was a great villain because of how loveable and hateable he was. Few villains like that exist, and because they are supposed to evoke both feelings of admiration and loathing (feelings that are on the opposite spectrum from each other), they can be tricky to create. But Anthony Burch, the lead writer for BL2, managed to succeed in this task, and Jack was considered by many to be one of the greatest villains ever created (IGN said so itself, and many fans talked about how great of a villain Jack was due to being so likeable/hateable). Look at this passage from Burch in this article about writing Handsome Jack (http://ift.tt/1sTC96V)
"Since it’s Borderlands, Jack should probably be funny, we thought. But you should still hate him, because if you like him too much then you’ll stop believing in your ultimate goal of killing the crap out of him. Jack, like the story of Borderlands 2 as a whole, needed to toe the line between funny and serious – we wanted him to make you laugh, then do something that made you desperately wish to put a bullet between his eyes, then make you laugh again."
I think I can safely say that for BL2, and before the Pre-Sequel came out, Burch succeeded in his desires with Jack. Jack had me laughing one moment, and then had me wanting to pound the smug look off his face the next moment. At the end of the game, when I’d killed the Warrior, thereby ruining Jack's plans and ambitions, I took great relish in him throwing a tantrum and listening to him complain about how unfair it was that he lost (when of course, he thoroughly deserved it).
Wanting to kill Jack was the main motivator for me in BL2. I’m sure I’m not the only one who felt the same way. Saving Pandora was really secondary, as it was still a shitty place to live, despite having such quirky and insane (in a slightly charming sort of way) characters.
Which is why the Pre-Sequel kind of wrecks things. By trying to make Jack sympathetic, there comes the risk of liking him too much, and again, in a world where someone like Jack is needed to make people like the ones on Pandora sympathetic, it’s not a very good idea. In fact, it’s true. A lot of fans and other people (you can even see it on this site here; just look up Handsome Jack here and you’ll find quite a few posts with people talking about how bad they feel for him now and how much they hate Moxxi, Roland, and Lilith now) are starting to sympathize with Jack and hate Lilith, Roland, and Moxxi.
And, somewhat frustratingly, they may be justified in that dislike for those 3, as the Pre-Sequel is too ambiguous in terms of just how bad Jack was. He obviously wasn’t a heroic person, but he had redeeming qualities, and despite having a love for killing (hardly a big, overtly bad thing, as in the Borderlands world, death and murder are treated like nothing), there wasn’t really any reason to consider him that much of a villain. Burch obviously intended this, given him stating in an article by IGN that he wanted to make Jack more moral and the Vault Hunters less moral, but not only was that not needed, it was a bad idea. Again, we need someone like Jack in BL2 to like the Vault Hunters, and with that reduced/gone, then that stops working.
“Jack’s arc in the Pre-Sequel doesn’t feel particularly engaging or well-paced. Without spoiling what happens with Jack inside the Vault, I can only say that that it felt like a disservice to all the characters involved. His Pre-Sequel arc ultimately fails to inform who he becomes in any meaningful way, given the scale of his crimes in Borderlands 2.”
The fact that it also required past “heroic” characters to act villainous also wrecks things, as it shows that Jack couldn’t be sympathetic any normal sort of way. They had to make quite a few Out-of-Character moments amongst the “heroes” in order to make Jack sympathetic. That, and the whole overdone “mind/brain gets overloaded by some ancient eldritch, you-can’t-grasp-or-understand-the-true-form” macguffin in order to explain why he becomes so evil at the end is another cheesy cop-out, which again shows why trying to make Handsome Jack sympathetic just doesn’t work out. It requires a lot of inconsistencies, plot holes, and ass pulls..
There’s also the fact that they had to leave out his treatment of Angel (or at least any real interactions with her involving him insulting her or abusing her), as well as what happened to his wife (I’m still wondering if Jack killed her to keep things quiet about Angel), in order to make him sympathetic. That’s another weak factor.
Even as retold by Athena, the Pre-Sequel plays out largely as Jack’s story and he’s portrayed as a victim on multiple occasions. This was another mistake.
“Lilith already walks a thin line of general likability in Borderlands 2. By the time we reach the end of Athena’s story many fans were so turned off by Lilith that they weren’t even interested in the truth of her situation. This is the aspect that feels like bad writing to me. Up to this point Lilith’s been one of the series main protagonists and has taken on a leadership role, so sacrificing her likability in the service of Jack’s story doesn’t make her any less complex a character, but it’s not necessarily a decision for the franchise or our experience with it as players.”
“I’m not really interested in having Handsome Jack seem sympathetic. He was a dickwad who wanted to clear out the planet for his own intentions. Giving him some heroic backstory isn’t gonna change that, but there’ll be a ton of long-winded excuses for him after the Pre-Sequel comes out that I’m not really looking forward to.” From someone on Tumblr.
^ Interestingly, this is exactly what happened. Now I view Jack as more of a mad dog in BL2. I still see the need to kill him, but I don't feel any more hostility towards him, so now the main drive of BL2 is kinda reduced for me.

My thoughts on the Halo 5 beta Fresh fom Reddit
Ok, so I have been a dedicated Halo player ever since Combat Evolved and I have tried to stay on the optimistic side when it comes to the newer Halo titles. At this point, I can't honestly find anything good about the beta so far. I definitely like it for what it is, but they shouldn't put the Halo title on this one. It doesn't play like Halo, it doesn't feel like Halo, and I was just very disappointed with where it's at right now. Yes, I know it's in the beta and I know there can be improvements, but as a Halo game, it's lacking the Halo-esque nature that the franchise is. The fighting is sloppy, the Spartans act like they're in a fraternity, and it feels like a really poor version of Call of Duty (and that's saying something). I'm not going to buy Halo 5, or any other Halo game in the future. 343 has completely demolished what was fun about the franchise, which was the simplicity of the game. Again, these are just my own opinions on it, but I thought I would throw in my two cents.

In defense of Game Show Friday... Fresh fom Reddit
I just wanted to throw my 2 cents into defending Game Show Friday, and why I'd love for it to continue being part of the show.
I do understand its limitations: it's heavily dependent on the guest to make it entertaining. The new format has helped with that aspect of it, but if the boys aren't able to find interesting and knowledgable guests, that's a big strike against it. This last Friday for instance was hilarious, I loved every minute of it. But there are definitely instances where that has not been the case.
Where I find value in GSF is the fact that I'm still a newer hockey fan (I've really only been watching it seriously for about three years now), and it provides me an opportunity to learn things that I wouldn't have otherwise. Those random trivia facts, the stories behind the answers, it takes a long time to acquire that knowledge if you're doing it on your own. That's one of the aspects of the show that I absolutely love and appreciate: the boys will go off on tangents and down rat holes that enlighten me on the history of this awesome sport. I'm always trying to broaden my knowledge base with regards to hockey history beyond my favorite franchise, and GSF is definitely a huge part of that.
So while I do understand why GSF doesn't work occasionally from the perspective of how to make the podcast better, I just wanted to throw it out there that it has a lot of value for a person like me who's learning more about hockey each day.
